Learn More About Our Co-Writing Course
If you want more opportunities for your songs, including having other people recording them, then co-writing is a really valuable skill to grow. As the enrollments come in for our co-writing course, we are also getting a few questions about. So we wanted to demystify the process for you right here.
We Help You Find Great Co-writers
As part of your enrollment process we ask you questions about where you’re at in your songwriting journey, what your preferred genres are, and where your strengths and weaknesses lie. We use this information to find you songwriters who might be a good match for you. We have found that the best collaborators aren’t always the most obvious, either.
How We Run Our Co-Writing Course Online
Unlike many of our other online programs, this course is offered live. Yes, that’s right, meet up with songwriters in real time, online to learn how to co-write! The course runs over 4 live sessions on Zoom, plus the actual co-writing sessions. The live sessions, run by Francesca, consist of lessons, connection with other songwriters, facilitated co-writing sessions and sharing sessions.
If you can’t make it live to a session, we do record the training sessions and can facilitate your co-writer introductions asynchronously. In this way, we can cater to all time zones, and make songwriter introductions based on best-fit, not just who is in your timezone.
We Help You Get Started With Co-writing… and Keep Going
In each of the 4 live training sessions, we look at different elements of the co-writing process, including:
- what makes a good match for a co-write and tools to collaborate online
- how to approach other songwriters and artists to co-write
- setting up effective co-writing spaces, and
- making a plan for future co-writes that you can stick to
We facilitate the first co-writing session of the course, then we introduce you to your next 2 co-writing teams so you can continue the co-writing in between the live sessions.
In the final live session, we have a big song sharing session to celebrate the songs you have co-written. You also leave with a plan for continuing your co-writing, as well as a network of co-writers to continue writing with.
“I’ve co-written plenty but this course delivered in ways I didn’t expect. Working with a new lens, finding new community and getting inspired by Francesca’s go-get-it attitude has been really truly excellent. I’m leaving the course incredibly optimistic , full of a new wave of confidence I didn’t have before and with a bag of cracking songs in every kind of genre. What a gift!” – Kelly Brouhaha
